REACH GREEN Expands Leadership with New Board of Advisors and Board Members
BOSTON, MA – August 13, 2025 – REACH GREEN, a grassroots nonprofit mobilizing athletes and active communities for environmental action, today announced the expansion of its leadership team with the creation of an Athlete and Ambassador Board of Advisors and the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors.
This milestone reflects REACH GREEN’s continued growth and positions the organization to take on its most ambitious initiatives yet. Founded to close the gap between caring about the environment and knowing how to help, REACH GREEN raises funds and directs them to trusted partners delivering measurable, high-impact work to protect and restore green spaces. By partnering with endurance athletes, runners, cyclists, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts, people who already feel the effects of environmental change in their daily lives, REACH GREEN provides a simple way to keep doing what they love while making an immediate, visible difference in the places they rely on for sport, health, and connection.
Introducing the Athlete and Ambassador Board of Advisors
As part of our commitment to grassroots momentum and expanding the organization’s reach, REACH GREEN launched the Athlete and Ambassador Board of Advisors, a group of athletes, community builders, and mission-aligned professionals who believe in the power of sport to protect the green spaces where we train, recover, and connect.
These trusted guides and advocates will channel their passion for movement into collective action for climate resilience and community health. They all serve as powerful connectors between sport, sustainability, and local engagement, helping REACH GREEN turn motion into momentum for environmental change.
Founding members include:
Tom Fowler, Michael Friedberg, Zack Grice, Maureen Kelly, Meredith McCurdy, Jeff Plush, Ken Rideout, Greg Rublev, Rishin Tandon, and Michelle Taylor.
New Board of Directors Appointments
We’re also thrilled to welcome four outstanding leaders to the REACH GREEN Board of Directors:
- Andrew Eil: Angel investor in climate technology startups and consultant specializing in climate-themed risk management, investing, and early-stage technology commercialization. His work spans critical issues such as wildfire and flood risk, water security, extreme heat, methane emissions, and property insurance. With more than two decades of experience in international affairs, financial markets, and climate change, Andrew has held leadership roles at Climate Finance Advisors, Tata Consultancy Services, the U.S. Department of State, and the World Bank Group.
- Joan Karpinski: A long-time Andover resident whose commitment to the environment and to helping others runs deep. She is an active volunteer with local conservation and sustainability efforts, contributing her time and energy to protecting open spaces and advancing environmental initiatives. A former licensed clinical social worker and nurse, Joan spent her career supporting the well-being of others. Today, she continues to devote her time to causes close to her heart, working with local groups to promote sustainability and protect natural spaces.
- Stephanie La Raja: Marketing and operations leader specializing in the climate and fitness sectors and founder of GreenWheel Marketing, a consultancy helping mission-driven companies grow and operate more efficiently. Previously, she served as Head of Marketing for Citi Bike at Lyft, where she transformed the program into a beloved brand with millions of riders, and earlier led the marketing launch of the Nissan Leaf, the first mass-produced electric vehicle.
- Josephine (Joey) Parr: Senior communications and marketing executive with more than two decades of experience leading brand transformation, strategic growth, and public engagement. She currently serves as Executive Director of External Affairs & Communications at the Columbia Climate School, and previously led a full organizational rebrand and national awareness campaigns at Vibrant Emotional Health, including the relaunch of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
These leaders bring vision, strategic expertise, and a deep commitment to driving community-powered environmental action.
