What’s Ahead for REACH GREEN
September Virtual Challenge Sneak Peek
Our next Virtual Challenge opens soon with new goals and rewards. We’re expanding the format to include more team-based options and tangible ways to make an impact.
Coming Soon:
REACH GREEN Athlete & Advocate Advisory Board
We’re launching a new advisory board made up of passionate leaders from the world of participatory sports. These athletes and advocates will serve as trusted guides, storytellers, and champions—helping shape REACH GREEN’s strategy and amplify our mission to protect the green spaces where we train, recover, and connect. More to come as this inspiring group comes together.
Did You Know?
Trees are climate heroes in disguise.
They absorb carbon, clean our air, cool our neighborhoods, and reduce flood risk. Just one mature tree can pull 48 pounds of CO₂ from the atmosphere each year and lower temperatures by up to 10°F.

Move with Purpose. Leave It Better.
Looking for a group activity that makes a visible difference? Try plogging, the movement that combines walking or running with picking up trash. It adds functional movement to your workout and builds community while keeping green spaces clean. All you need: gloves, a bag, and a few motivated friends.
Local Spotlight: Boston Food Forest Coalition
Our friends at the Boston Food Forest Coalition are transforming underused land into vibrant, shared spaces. Their newest food forest opened in Boston in late June and is a powerful example of what’s possible when communities take action.
We’re fans of their mission and hope to collaborate in the future.

GREEN Briefing
Each month, we’ll spotlight stories that show how outdoor spaces, community action, and climate resilience come together—often with athletes, advocates, and everyday residents leading the way.
This month, we’re heading to Atlanta, where a once-overlooked industrial corridor is being transformed into vibrant green space, improving health, access, and climate resilience for surrounding neighborhoods. It’s a powerful example of how community-led efforts can restore nature and equity at the same time, exactly the kind of impact REACH GREEN champions.
